WINE OVERVIEW
Mendel embodies the union of Roberto de La Mota, one of Argentina’s most respected and experienced winemakers, with a century-old Argentinian family to produce award-winning elegant wines from ancient estate vines and diverse soils. From 70+ year-old vineyards at the ‘Faraway Ranch’ in Altamira (Uco Valley), this dense Malbec is full-bodied with thick tannins.
TASTING NOTES
Intense aromas dominated by red and black fruits. Before swirling, black cherries and plums appear; aer swirling, spices and so notes of licorice emerge. A complex wine with great volume and structure. Its mature, well-present tannins fill the mouth while remaining smooth and silky. Flavors of black cherries and plum reappear, giving the wine an exceptionally long finish.
EAT WITH
Grilled red meats, slow-cooked lamb, or roasted game. Also complement dishes with earthy or smoky notes, such as mushroom risotto, aged cheeses, or charcuterie. For a vegetarian option, try it with roasted eggplant or lentil stew with aromatic spices.
